Elloria Living is a boutique recovery home in Townsville for older adults who are well enough to leave hospital but not quite ready to go home alone. There are three rooms for residents, and every one of them gets real time, real care and a real home around them.

A stay at Elloria

Everything included, nothing clinical

A room of your own

A comfortable private bedroom in a real family home, with shared living and dining spaces to sit, talk and eat together.

Home cooked meals

Proper meals made in the house kitchen, with care taken around dietary needs and the way each person likes things.

Help with daily living

Support with the everyday tasks that feel hard after hospital, at a pace that rebuilds confidence instead of taking it away.

Planning the next step

Together we work toward going home, or toward whatever comes next, and make sure that move is safe and well prepared.

Families kept in the loop

Regular, honest updates to family and the referring team throughout the stay, so nobody is left wondering.

Flexible stays

From a short stay of a few days through to several months. Each stay is a clear weekly package with no hidden extras.

Who it's for

Is Elloria right for your family?

Elloria is a recovery home, not a nursing home or hospital. Being clear about this keeps every resident safe.

Elloria suits someone who

  • Is medically stable and ready, or nearly ready, to leave hospital
  • Doesn't yet feel safe going home without support
  • Needs some help with daily living and getting their confidence back
  • Is working toward going home or another next step

Elloria can't safely support

  • Two-person transfers or hoisting
  • Extensive continence care
  • Complex wound care or nursing procedures
  • Palliative or end of life care
  • Continuous clinical supervision

How it works

From the first call to moving in

  1. Have a chat

    Call or email to talk about the person and their situation. No paperwork for this first conversation.

  2. Check the fit

    A short suitability conversation makes sure Elloria is the right place for them.

  3. Plan the move

    We work with the family and the hospital team on timing, transport and arrival.

  4. Settle in

    Ongoing care and updates for the family and referrer for the whole stay.

Meet Louise

Founder and House Manager

"I've spent my life caring for people, and I know recovery isn't only about the body. It's about feeling safe, being heard, and getting your confidence back. That's what Elloria is for."

Louise has spent many years working in aged care and community services. She has cared for people through recovery, illness and the hard days in between, and she has run her own respite care home in Western Australia as its director.

Elloria came from a simple wish: to give older people a warm, real home to recover in, with someone who knows their name, their routines and how they take their tea.

Louise lives on site and is hands on every day.
